A uniform syllabus in Physics for Uttarakhand Universities is being implemented for B. Sc. Ill from this academic session 2023-2024. The present work is an effort to meet the requirement of this course. It is a basically the modified, revised and actually rewritten edition of author's existing popular book 'PHYSICAL OPTICS' which has constantly been getting reader's support since 1971. It has strictly been arranged according to the requirement of new uniform syllabus except at certain places to maintain continuity.
