The third Doctor Dolittle novel by Hugh Lofting is titled Doctor Dolittle's Post Office. The book, which is set on the West Coast of Africa, uses the same episodic structure as the majority of the other books in the series. The book begins with Doctor Dolittle assisting in the seizure of a slave trader's ship. He then sets up the postal system for the small African nation of Fantippo, which is ruled by King Koko. The postal program develops into a global publishing and postal service for the benefit of all animals.
